Security Officer

NOTE: In order to be licensed and hired to work as a security guard in the state of Washington, you must be at least 18 years old, a US Citizen or Legal Resident, and be able to pass a criminal background check and random drug screenings. You must be physically and mentally capable of performing the duties of a security guard and employed by a state licensed security guard company.

I.      OBJECTIVE

To provide world class service to each and every client we serve. NW Overwatch officers take pride in meeting the highest standards in the industry. Security officers provide a deterrent presence, monitor/patrol sites to increase safety and security, respond to incidents, and complete regular reports. 

 

II.      PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • A security officer will be on-time, in the correct uniform, and perform their duties thoroughly, each and every shift.
  • Officers use smartphones, tablets/laptops, radios, apps such as Zello, Signal, email, Google Docs, and similar tools to report their activities and incidents that occur on sites.
  • Officers will check in regularly as instructed, conduct patrols and site checks, and follow post orders and supervisor instructions at all times. 
  • Officers must be experienced and comfortable dealing with a variety of situations, dealing with transients and other potentially dangerous people, de-escalation, and if no other options are possible, authorized use of force.

III.      DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience as an armed or unarmed security officer, law enforcement officer, and/or military service.
